Julie, I’m pretty sure that pink and green leaf you liked so well is a Caladium. They grow from rhizomes (sort of a cross between a root and a bulb) and will grow in the summer here, but you have to dig up the rhizomes in the fall because they are not winter hardy. I’ll bet they LOVE the climate in Indonesia.
Loved the other photos as well. You all have a lot to learn about plants!
